Re: Joey Morgan

As Owner and then Creative Director of Church & Main, Inc. I worked with Joey on a multitude of projects large and small from 2000-2004. She also provided design and illustrations for a book I was writing at the time.

In other words, I am very familiar with her creative skills and talents as well as her ability to work as part of a creative team. Here’s what you need to know:

1. Joey is one of the most imaginative and resourceful people you will ever have the pleasure of working with.

2. To my ongoing surprise/relief she has no difficulty putting that imagination (and any related creative “agendas”) at the service of the strategic goals of the project.

3. In fact, she sees meeting practical goals—from strategic to budget to deadline—as important a creative challenge as the design itself.

4. Her technical skills, particularly in terms of illustration and retouching/re-creation, are simply unsurpassed.

5. She is excellent at mentoring younger designers and even explaining technical details to older creative directors!

6. While she doesn’t “suffer fools gladly,” she is refreshingly forthright and works very well as part of a creative team.

I could probably put all this in more elegant prose, but those are the facts and Joey’s qualifications don’t need any artificial embellishment. Please don’t hesitate to call or write if you would like me to elaborate.
